When a vendor record changes during procurement, the people approving or managing a purchase may need to know quickly. A small change can affect who supplies an order, which details appear on a request or whether a team member should review the relationship. Zip provides an Updated Vendor event that can turn that change into a direct SMS alert.

Through Zapier, Updated Vendor can trigger Mobile Message's Send SMS or Send SMS to List action. The message can identify the vendor and include the changed information supplied by Zip. This gives procurement staff a prompt notification without asking them to watch Zip continuously. It does not update the vendor in Mobile Message or create a two-way record.

Zip's Create Comment, Upload Document and Update Purchase Request actions are useful for workflows started elsewhere, but the available Zip trigger is limited to vendor updates. For this connection, the strongest use is an alert to a buyer, finance contact or procurement group. Zip remains the system for purchasing activity, while Mobile Message handles the text.
