Finance teams selling into the EU spend a fair bit of time confirming a customer's VAT number is real before an invoice goes out, usually by checking it against the VIES register by hand and hoping the entity name matches what the customer typed on their signup form or gave over the phone.

VATFix Plus connects to Mobile Message through Zapier, and its Validate EU VAT Number action can sit in the middle of a Zap between a business event and the text that follows it. An overdue invoice in Xero, a form response or a new lead can all trigger a check through VIES first, so the SMS that goes out afterwards is only sent once the VAT number and entity name are confirmed rather than assumed. A customer can also text their own VAT number in directly, giving finance teams a quick way to check it without opening the VIES site themselves.
