A customer whose email bounces back never finds out about the sale, the appointment or the update, because the message disappears into a failed delivery event and nobody notices until it's too late. Mailgun tracks that outcome closely, along with bounces, unsubscribes and complaints, but on its own it has no way to reach that person again. Linking Mailgun to Mobile Message through Zapier gives the message a second chance to land, this time as a text.

Once connected, a failed delivery event can trigger a text to the same customer instead, so the message still gets through even when the inbox does not cooperate. The same link keeps opt-outs consistent too, when someone unsubscribes from the email list or marks a message as spam, that same person can be added to the Mobile Message opt-out list, so they stop hearing from either channel at once.
