A maintenance coordinator may be handling a broken asset while a technician waits for the next instruction. Coast’s Card Created trigger can send a Mobile Message SMS as soon as a work item is recorded, so the right person receives the assignment without another manual chase.

A Card Updated event can also send a progress notice when details change. Mobile Message can create a contact or add one to a list when a card contains a new customer or contractor number. Coast includes actions for Create Card and Update Card, but those actions do not create a useful reverse workflow from a Mobile Message event unless you have a defined record to change. The practical Zaps therefore begin in Coast and finish with a visible SMS or contact record in Mobile Message. Include the card title, site, urgency and relevant phone number in the message. Zapier passes the selected Coast event into the chosen Mobile Message action. This is a focused automation rather than a two-way synchronisation, so updates made later in either account do not automatically appear in the other.
