A new work order or request is created in UpKeep, and the right person may need to know before a maintenance issue grows. Facility teams can lose time checking queues manually, especially when requests arrive outside normal rounds. Through Zapier, UpKeep can start a Mobile Message SMS or contact action when work orders, requests or purchase orders change.

New Work Order and New Request can send an alert to a technician or coordinator. Work Order Status Change and Purchase Order Status Change can provide updates when progress matters. Mobile Message can send SMS, create contacts or add contacts to lists, so the workflow can notify staff or organise a contractor record for later messages.

This gives maintenance operators a visible communication step while UpKeep continues to manage work orders and requests. It does not update UpKeep records automatically, synchronise both systems or create a native integration. Zapier receives the selected UpKeep event and runs one Mobile Message action with the information you map. Test the available fields before putting operational alerts into use.
