A new member can trigger a Mobile Message SMS with a welcome note, next steps, or a reminder about where to participate. A new poll answer can also start a message when the response needs a prompt follow-up from your team.

This connection uses Zapier, with Tribe supplying the event and Mobile Message sending the text. You can add new members to a Mobile Message list, create contacts for future outreach, or send a message immediately where the member's number is available. Mobile Message's Inbound SMS Received trigger can also invite a member into Tribe, although that only makes sense if your SMS number is used for community access. Each Zap is one-directional, so it does not keep Tribe and Mobile Message synchronised. Use the community fields available in the trigger, set expectations in the welcome text, and test the path with a small group before applying it to every new member.
