Customers are happiest when shipment updates arrive before they need to ask where an order is. DeftShip can signal a new parcel shipment, freight shipment, parcel order or freight order. Through Zapier, one of those events can send a Mobile Message SMS to the customer or create a contact for later delivery communication.

A shipment notification can include the reference, service details or other fields available in the DeftShip event. This gives dispatch teams a practical way to acknowledge a new shipment without copying details into a separate messaging tool. You can also use a new parcel order or freight order to create a Mobile Message contact, then place that contact on a list for a particular delivery process. Mobile Message handles the SMS or contact record, while DeftShip remains the source of the logistics event. Each Zap is one directional, so you can choose exactly which DeftShip event should produce a message and which recipient fields should be used.
