A team member completes a work item in Canvas:OS while the person waiting for the result is away from the workspace. A dashboard update may not be enough when the outcome affects a customer, manager or colleague. Through Zapier, Canvas:OS activity can trigger Mobile Message to send a timely text, or an inbound text can create a new work item for the team.

Completed Work Item can send an SMS confirming that a task is finished. New Activity can alert a manager when activity is recorded for a team member, using the details passed from Canvas:OS. Mobile Message Inbound SMS Received can also trigger Create Work Item when a text contains a request that should be placed on the team board. These workflows use one trigger and one action at a time, so they do not imply that both systems stay synchronised. Map the relevant names, numbers and work details in Zapier, then test the message and item fields before enabling the Zap. This gives small teams a practical route from workspace activity to visible communication. Both accounts are required.
