Approval Donkey’s Approval Status Updated trigger can send a direct SMS when an approval changes, giving a manager or requester prompt visibility of the outcome. A Mobile Message contact can also be created when a notification recipient first enters the process.

Through Zapier, Approval Donkey can pass approval status events to Mobile Message Send SMS, Create Contact or Add Contact to List. The message can identify the request, state that its status changed and direct the recipient to Approval Donkey for the full decision record. Approval Donkey remains the place where approval requests, sign-offs and decisions are tracked, while Mobile Message handles the text notification. The workflow does not update approval status from SMS or synchronise both systems. Map the recipient’s mobile number and the status information available in the trigger. This is useful for teams where a delayed approval can hold up work, purchasing or publication. The result is faster awareness of decisions and fewer requests sitting unnoticed in the approval queue.
