When an inbound text lands, Zapier can create or update that person as a contact in WANotifier, so the record is ready before anyone opens WhatsApp to reply. A reply can also go out within an active WhatsApp session, keeping the conversation moving on whichever channel the customer prefers to use next.

Delivery is the other side of it. If a text fails to reach someone, that Delivery Status Updated event can trigger a message template through WANotifier instead, so a customer whose phone rejected the SMS still gets the notification on WhatsApp rather than being missed entirely. Each of these is a one-way handoff out of Mobile Message, WANotifier does not send anything back into an SMS in return, but for a business already committed to both channels it means fewer people falling through the cracks between them.
