Teams that run live chat, notifications or connected devices on PubNub often need a dependable way to reach people outside the app. A new message on a channel can contain a customer request, an operational alert or a prompt that deserves attention. A presence change on a channel can also show that someone has joined or left a live experience.

Through Zapier, PubNub events can start Mobile Message actions. Publish a message to a PubNub channel after an inbound SMS, so a support or operations team can see the text inside its live application. You can also send an SMS when a new message is published on a channel. This is useful for urgent escalations, appointment changes and service notifications where an app alert may be missed. Each Zap follows a defined event and action, allowing your team to choose which channels, phone numbers and message content should be used. It does not create a native two-way connection, but it gives your PubNub workflows a practical SMS step when timing matters.
