Operators who use OutboundAPI for automated calls often need a text alert when a conversation finishes. A completed call may contain a result that a coordinator must act on, yet waiting for someone to review the call history can delay the next step. Zapier lets OutboundAPI send its Call Completed event to Mobile Message for an immediate SMS notification.

Use the call data to notify a team member, confirm that a collection task has finished or flag a result for review. OutboundAPI also offers New Call, which can be triggered by another workflow to initiate an AI voice call. Mobile Message Inbound SMS Received can trigger that action, allowing a text from a customer or operator to start a defined call workflow.

The connection is useful when calls and texts have distinct roles. OutboundAPI handles the phone conversation, while Mobile Message handles the SMS step selected in Zapier. Each direction is configured separately rather than treated as a native two-way sync.
