A new item of physical mail can arrive when the person who needs to see it is away from the office. XBP Global Digital Mailroom's New DMR Mail trigger can alert a team member by SMS, so an important arrival is not dependent on someone checking the mailroom platform at the right time.

Through Zapier, New DMR Mail can start Mobile Message's Send SMS action. The text can identify that new mail is available and include the sender, reference or other information supplied by the DMR event. This gives staff a short, visible alert they can act on quickly, while the full mail record remains in XBP Global Digital Mailroom for review.

The available XBP list contains one trigger and no actions, so this connection is suited to notifications rather than sending records back to the mailroom. Test which event fields are available in your account before writing the SMS. You can also use Mobile Message's delivery status trigger in a separate workflow if another connected app has a sensible action for delivery updates.
