Currencyapi SMS Integration

An invoice falls overdue in Xero for a customer who was billed in Australian dollars but pays from overseas, and the reminder that goes out means little if it does not show what the amount comes to in their own currency. Currencyapi solves that piece, returning the latest exchange rates for a base currency and any target currencies needed.

Currencyapi does not send anything itself, it works in the middle of a Zap. It can get the latest exchange rates the moment an invoice becomes overdue in Xero or an order is paid in Shopify, converting the amount before the next step runs. Mobile Message then sends the text, with Zapier carrying the converted figure from one app to the other rather than any direct connection between them.

For a business billing international customers, this means the reminder or confirmation that lands by SMS states the amount in a currency the customer actually recognises, worked out at the moment the message is triggered rather than a rate looked up hours or days earlier. It saves someone converting the figure by hand before typing out a text, and it keeps the wording accurate even when rates shift from one day to the next.
