Customers can move from an email open or click to a useful SMS conversation, so a campaign does not end when the inbox is closed. Campaign Monitor provides triggers such as New Subscriber, New Click Through, New Email Open and New Unsubscribe. Through Zapier, those events can send a plain text message with Mobile Message or update the subscriber record in Campaign Monitor.

A new subscriber might receive a welcome SMS, while a click through can prompt a timely sales follow-up. If someone unsubscribes from a Campaign Monitor list, the event can trigger Mobile Message Add Unsubscribe, helping keep SMS preferences aligned with the customer’s email choice. Mobile Message can also receive replies through Inbound SMS Received, which can run Campaign Monitor actions such as Add Subscriber or Update Subscriber.

These workflows are useful when email and SMS play different roles in the same campaign. Keep the email content in Campaign Monitor and reserve SMS for short reminders, confirmations or next steps. Each Zap has a defined trigger and action, so review consent and message rules before enabling it.
