1Lookup exists for that moment. It validates a phone number, scrubs it against do not call and spam lists, or appends contact detail from a phone, email or IP address, checking everything is genuine before it gets used for anything else. On its own it doesn't send anything, so via Zapier it sits in the middle of a Zap, taking the number a lead form or an order collects and handing back a clean result.

Can I validate a phone number before Mobile Message sends a text?
Yes. A Zap can run 1Lookup's Validate Phone step on a number, such as one collected through Facebook Lead Ads, and only pass it on to a Mobile Message Send SMS step once it comes back as a genuine, working number.
Does 1Lookup check for do not call numbers before an SMS goes out?
It can. The Scrub Phone step returns do not call and phone type detail, so a Zap can run that check straight after an order is paid in Shopify and before Mobile Message texts the customer with a shipping update.
What do I need to add a number check in front of a Mobile Message text?
The whole thing is built inside Zapier with no coding. You connect your 1Lookup account and your Mobile Message account inside a Zap, add a step such as Validate Phone or Scrub Phone between your trigger app and Mobile Message's Send SMS step, then map the result across.
