A boom gate camera catches a car pulling into the yard, and within seconds someone needs to know whose plate that is before deciding whether to wave the vehicle through or send someone out to check. A parking operator or security desk often has only that image and a few seconds to act on it.

OCR Car Plates applies OCR technology from Primesoft Polska to recognise the numbers on a vehicle plate straight from a photo, using its Recognise Plate Numbers action to return the plate as text within seconds of the image being submitted. That turns a photo nobody has time to squint at into a plain string of characters that other systems, and other people, can actually use.

Mobile Message works with plain text messages rather than photos, so there is no automation here that starts from a text or ends by texting a picture back. The plate number it returns, though, is ordinary text, which means once it has been recognised it can sit inside a wider workflow that includes a text message as a later step, rather than being locked inside the image it came from. That means the recognised text still needs another step to reach a phone, since this app itself has no trigger to start that hand-off automatically.
