A customer replies to a text with a question that does not fit any of the standard responses, and before the workflow does anything else, someone on the team needs to look at it and decide what happens next. A Zap can pause right there rather than guessing what to do and getting it wrong in front of a customer.

Human Approval - HITL Platform adds that pause to an otherwise automated workflow. Its Create Decision Request action sends the details of what just happened to a person, then waits for their response through a callback before the rest of the Zap continues. Connected to Mobile Message through Zapier, it turns a step that would normally run on its own into one a person signs off on first, without anyone needing to write any code to set it up.

Inbound SMS Received is the obvious trigger for this, since a reply worth reading is exactly the kind of thing that should reach a person before a Zap acts on it alone. Delivery Status Updated works the same way, so if a text fails to reach a customer, a decision request can go out asking whether to call them, resend the message, or leave it as is for now.
