An order comes through with a date stamped in the wrong format, or an invoice total sitting as raw digits instead of a readable dollar figure, and a text built straight off that data reads badly by the time it reaches the customer. Formatter by Zapier sits in the middle of a Zap and tidies that data up before it goes anywhere else, reformatting text, numbers and dates, or pulling a value from a lookup table.

Paired with Mobile Message, Formatter's Date/Time action can turn a raw timestamp from an order or booking into something a customer can actually read in a text, while its Numbers action can present an invoice total as proper currency instead of plain digits. Its Text action can tidy up a name before it is dropped into a message, so the SMS that follows reads like it was written by a person rather than pasted straight out of a database.
