A council communications team may need residents to hear about a new alert or event as soon as it is published. CivicEngage can start a Zap when a New Alert Center Item, New News Flash Item or New Calendar Event is created. Mobile Message can then send an SMS to a selected recipient or list with the key public information.

This can support urgent local notices, reminders about a newly listed event or an internal prompt to check and publish the right message. The Zap can use the title, timing and other fields CivicEngage provides, while the SMS remains concise and plain text. A separate workflow can also use Create Calendar Event in CivicEngage when another app supplies the event details.

Zapier handles the connection between CivicEngage and Mobile Message. It does not create a native shared system or automatically synchronise website content. Choose a clear trigger and review the SMS wording so the recipient gets a useful notice without unnecessary detail.
