Fundraising teams, community groups and charities often need to acknowledge support while a donor is still thinking about the cause. Charitable provides events for Donation Completed, First-Time Donor, New Recurring Subscription and Campaign Goal Reached. Connecting those events to Mobile Message through Zapier gives the fundraising team a direct way to communicate important moments by SMS.

A first-time donation can trigger a warm thank-you message, while a new recurring subscription can confirm the donor's ongoing support. Campaign Goal Reached can send an internal alert or a message to a suitable contact when a milestone is achieved. Subscription Payment Failed can also prompt a careful reminder, so the team can follow up through an appropriate channel. These workflows use one Charitable event and one Mobile Message action. They do not create a shared donor database or imply that changes are synchronised between systems.

Charitable's donor actions can also be used in a separate Zap. For example, an Inbound SMS Received event in Mobile Message can run Charitable's Update Donor action when a supporter sends a text and your workflow has the required donor identifier. This is a distinct, one-directional automation. It gives staff more ways to record activity without suggesting that SMS replies are automatically matched to every donor.

Choose the event and message carefully, particularly for payment failures and donor communications. Mobile Message can send an individual SMS, send to a list or manage contact records as part of the workflow you design.
