Email newsletter teams using Smaily can add a direct text touchpoint when a subscriber is created or updated. Smaily’s Update Subscriber Data action can be triggered from another app in a wider Zap, while Mobile Message can send an SMS before or after that subscriber step. This is useful when email is not the only channel a customer checks.

A common workflow starts with a customer event elsewhere, updates the subscriber in Smaily, then sends a plain text notification through Mobile Message. The Mobile Message action can contain a concise campaign reminder, confirmation or follow-up message. Smaily also offers Send Confirmation Email, so a Zap can use subscriber information for an email confirmation and a separate SMS workflow for customers who have provided a mobile number.

Smaily’s available trigger, Test Call, is intended to test the connection by loading campaigns, rather than represent a normal customer event. For that reason, the practical role here is as an action in a larger Zap. The connection is configured in Zapier and does not create a native two-way link.
