About the QuickChart integration

A sales report lands, a survey closes, or a week of orders rolls in, and someone wants the numbers as a picture rather than a spreadsheet. QuickChart turns that data into a chart image on the spot, whether that is a line chart, a bar chart or a pie chart. On its own it renders the image. Paired with Mobile Message through Zapier, the finished chart can be handed straight to the person who needs to see it, by text.

Picture a retailer whose Zap watches for a new paid order, builds an updated sales bar chart with QuickChart, and texts a link to it to the store manager. A form closes, QuickChart turns the responses into a pie chart, and the organiser gets a text with the chart link before opening their inbox. A custom Chart.js template covers cases the standard chart types cannot, so a Zap can use Create Chart when the data does not fit a simple bar or line.

None of this needs anyone to build or host a chart. QuickChart generates the image, and Mobile Message's Send SMS action carries a link to it straight to a phone. Text messages stay plain text, so the value here is the shortened path from data to a chart someone can actually open, not an image arriving inside the SMS itself.

QuickChart + SMS: common questions

Can QuickChart send the chart image directly by SMS?

No. SMS only carries plain text, so QuickChart creates the chart image and Mobile Message's Send SMS action texts a link to it instead. The recipient taps the link to view the finished bar, line, pie or custom chart in their browser.

Can a Zap text someone a link to a chart built from form or order data?

Yes. Connect a trigger such as a new paid order or form response to a QuickChart action like Create Bar Chart or Create Pie Chart, then use Mobile Message's Send SMS action to text a link to the finished chart to whoever needs to see it.

How do I set up QuickChart with Mobile Message?

The two work together through Zapier, with no coding required. You will need a QuickChart account and a Mobile Message account, plus the app whose data starts the Zap, such as Shopify or Google Forms, and Zapier passes the chart link into a Send SMS step.
