A patient texts back to confirm they're on their way, or replies with a new phone number after months without contact, and if that message just sits in a phone, front desk staff still have to open Connect the Doc and enter it by hand before anyone can act on it. Practices that rely on SMS to manage patients end up doing the admin twice, once when the text arrives and again when someone finally logs it during a lull between patients.

Zapier removes that second step. When Mobile Message registers an Inbound SMS Received event, it can trigger Check in Patient in Connect the Doc so a reply becomes an arrival record without anyone touching the appointment screen, or it can trigger Update Contact so a patient's new details are saved the moment they text them through. Either way, the reply itself does the admin instead of waiting for staff to catch up between appointments.
