IP2Location turns a raw IP address into a country, region or timezone in the middle of a Zap, and that detail can feed straight into a workflow built around Mobile Message, without anyone looking the address up by hand.

Rather than starting or receiving anything on its own, IP2Location sits between whatever collects the visitor's details and the step that actually reaches them. Placed before Mobile Message's Send SMS or Send SMS to List action, the lookup can hold a message until it lands during business hours for that region, or split recipients onto a different list depending on where they are browsing from. A shopper on the other side of the country can be treated differently to one nearby, rather than everyone getting the same message at whatever time the Zap happened to run. IP2Location will not send or reply to a text by itself, its job is to get the detail right just before Mobile Message does.

Can IP2Location send a text message on its own?

No. IP2Location does not send messages itself. It only works out a location from an IP address, and that detail can be used inside a Zap that then asks Mobile Message to send the actual SMS or add someone to a list.

Why would I connect IP2Location to Mobile Message?

Connecting the two lets a Zap adjust an SMS based on where someone is browsing from, such as holding a message until it reaches a customer's local business hours or grouping recipients by region before Mobile Message sends anything out.

How do I add an IP2Location lookup to an existing SMS Zap?
