Paired with Mobile Message through Zapier, one of those incoming WhatsApp messages can trigger a text to the same customer over SMS, useful when a reply needs to reach someone who isn't checking WhatsApp right then. The same trigger can add that person as a new contact in Mobile Message, so the two channels build up a shared list of who's been in touch rather than two separate ones.
It works the other way too. A reply that comes in as a text message can trigger a WhatsApp template message sent back through Gupshup, letting a business follow up on the channel a customer originally used even after the conversation moved to SMS. For a support or sales team juggling both channels, that keeps a customer's reply from getting stranded on the wrong one.

- Receive Incoming Messages — Triggers when any one of New message, New media message, Interactive quick reply, Template quick reply, Opt-in, or Opt-out is received in your WhatsApp Business Account. Provide your WhatsApp Account credentials and then select the event to link this trigger to.
Actions 2
- Send Template Message — Template messaging enables a business to send out notification to their customers outside 24 hours window. WhatsApp mandates that notification should be only send to the users who has given consent to receive messages from the business. Keeping this as a default behavior on our platform, template messages can be only sent to users who are marked opt-in. Success indicates a message has been queued for sending.
- User OptIn OptOut — This Zap will allow you to opt a user in or out of Zapier.
