About the DoubleTick integration

Businesses that run their customer conversations through WhatsApp Business API still need a way to reach the contacts who don't have WhatsApp installed or haven't replied there. DoubleTick handles the WhatsApp side, sending messages, media and pre-approved templates, but it has no built in way to reach someone by text on its own.

Zapier closes that gap. A new WhatsApp message being received can trigger an SMS to alert a support agent, or a status update on an existing WhatsApp message can trigger a text to the customer as a backup. Retailers, agencies and service teams that split conversations between the two channels can keep both moving without checking two separate inboxes.

The connection works both ways. An SMS delivery status change from Mobile Message can trigger a WhatsApp message to the same contact, and an inbound SMS reply can trigger a pre-approved WhatsApp template so the conversation continues on whichever channel the customer picks up first.

Yes. Mobile Message's inbound SMS trigger can fire DoubleTick's send actions, including a pre-approved template message, so a customer who replies by text can be answered on WhatsApp instead.
